These are the five prompts we work through together in the session. Copy the one you need, paste it into Claude, and fill in anything in square brackets.
They all follow RACE: Role, Action, Context, Execute. The who, the what, the why and the how. Context is the one everyone skips, and it is the one that makes the output sound like you instead of like everybody else.
Do them in order if you can. Task 1 tells Claude about your business, so everything after it gets shorter and better.
You do not need a paid account for any of this. Go to claude.ai and sign up with your email.
------------------------------------------------------------
TASK 1: TELL IT ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS
Do this one first. It only takes a few minutes, and it means you stop re-explaining yourself in every new chat.
Role: You're a marketing strategist getting to know a new client for the first time.
Action: I'm going to tell you about my business. Ask me anything you need to understand it properly, then remember it so I never have to explain it again.
Context: My business is [business name and what you sell]. My customers are [who buys from you]. What makes us different is [the honest answer, not the marketing one]. I like to sound [warm / straight down the line / a bit cheeky].
Execute: Ask me up to five questions, one at a time, then write me a short summary of my business in your own words so I can check you've got it right. Australian English.
------------------------------------------------------------
TASK 2: ASK IT TO SEARCH THE WEB
Claude can go and look things up mid-chat. Use it for what is actually happening in your industry right now, not what was true two years ago.
Role: You're a marketing strategist who specialises in [your industry] businesses in Australia.
Action: Search the web for the most current marketing trends and tactics working for businesses like mine right now, and tell me the top 3 I should focus on.
Context: My business is [business name/type], my customers are [who buys from you], and my biggest challenge right now is [your challenge].
Execute: Give me 3 bullet points in plain, practical language, no jargon, and tell me where each idea came from.
Always check the sources it gives you before you use any of it anywhere.
Optional: Run the same task but for a trends report, then turn it in to a tracker.
------------------------------------------------------------
TASK 3: DRAFT IT ON THE SPOT
Start with something you have already written. An email you sent a client works best. No email? Use a blog post. Neither? Write down the three questions customers ask you every single time.
Role: You're a copywriter who writes the way I write, not the way advertising sounds.
Action: Here's something I've already written: [paste your email, your blog post, or the three questions customers ask you most]. Turn it into three different things: a social caption, an answer for my FAQs page, and a short paragraph for my website.
Context: You already know my business from earlier. Keep my meaning and keep my voice. Australian English.
Execute: Give me all three, clearly labelled. No jargon, no em dashes. Then tell me in one line what you changed about the tone and why.
NOTE: IF IT IS NOT WRITTEN DOWN ANYWHERE, TALK IT OUT FIRST
On your phone: open Notes, tap the microphone on the keyboard, talk, then copy the text across.
In Google Docs: open a doc in Chrome, go to Tools, then Voice typing. Click the microphone, allow it, and talk. Click the microphone again to stop.
------------------------------------------------------------
TASK 4: UPLOAD A FILE
Find a spreadsheet, a PDF or a document on your laptop. A sales export, a price list, a report you never got around to reading. Drag it straight into the chat.
Role: You're an analyst who explains things to a busy business owner, not to another analyst.
Action: I've attached [a spreadsheet / a report / a whitepaper]. Read it and tell me the three things that actually matter for my business, and one thing I should do about it this month.
Context: You already know my business from earlier. I don't need a full summary, I need the "so what".
Execute: Three bullet points and one action. Plain language. If anything in there is unclear or looks wrong, say so rather than glossing over it.
NOTE: NO FILE YOU CAN USE?
If you have nothing sitting unread, or the only files you have are private, run this one first and then use the prompt above on whatever it finds.
Search the web for a recent whitepaper or industry report about [your industry] in Australia, published in the last year or so. Give me the source and the link, then summarise what's in it.
One rule either way: anonymise it first if it has client names or details in it.
------------------------------------------------------------
TASK 5: ASK IT TO BUILD YOU SOMETHING
This is the one that surprises people. Claude can build a working tool in the chat, no technical setup at all.
Role: You're a marketing systems designer who builds simple, visual tools for small business owners.
Action: Build me an interactive calculator that shows how many hours a week I could get back if I used AI to help with content creation.
Context: I currently spend [X hours] a week writing content by hand for [platform/channel], and I want to see the impact in hours saved per week and per month.
Execute: Make it interactive with a simple slider or input box, show the result visually, and keep the design clean with no technical setup needed.
OR SWAP IT FOR YOUR OWN
Anything your customers always ask you to work out. A rough quote, a size guide, a checklist. Same shape, just change the Action and the Context.
------------------------------------------------------------
ONE LAST THING
You do not have to do these one at a time. Once Claude knows your business from Task 1, everything after it gets shorter and better, because you have stopped explaining yourself every time.
And the rule that does not change: AI drafts, you check. Never send a quote, a price or anything client-facing without reading every line.
