Get to Know the Founders: Julie & Andy from Inigma Finance

Updated: Jul 10

If you've ever felt intimidated by finance, Julie and Andy want you to know one thing:

"Just pick up the phone and ask."

It's a simple philosophy, but it's one that sits at the heart of Inigma Finance — a business built on relationships, education and helping people navigate lending without the jargon or judgment.

For Julie, finance has been part of her world for more than two decades. Starting in equipment finance before moving into retail banking and branch management, she developed a deep understanding of both the technical side of lending and the human side of helping clients achieve their goals.

"I love a good chat," she says. "I loved being physically present with clients every day and helping them find solutions."

Andy arrived at finance from a very different path. After spending 20 years owning and operating hospitality venues across Sydney, he understands firsthand the challenges that come with running a business.

"We enjoy a problem to solve," he says. "That's what drew me into this industry."

Together, they bring a unique blend of financial expertise, business ownership experience and genuine empathy for their clients.

Spend five minutes with Julie and Andy and one thing becomes clear: they're not interested in transactions. They're interested in people.

Whether they're helping a business owner secure growth funding, refinancing equipment, or simply answering questions about lending options, their first step is always the same.

"The best thing we can do is get to know you first before we make any assumptions."

It's an approach shaped by years of experience. They've seen the impact that economic uncertainty, rising costs and unexpected challenges can have on business owners, and they know many people feel embarrassed asking for help.

Their message?

Don't be.

"We've seen everything," Julie says. "There's no judgement."

As passionate adopters of technology and AI, they're always looking for ways to deliver faster, smarter outcomes for clients while keeping the personal touch firmly at the centre of everything they do.

What really sets them apart is their belief that finance should never feel intimidating.

"The broker works for the client," Andy explains. "Tell them what's going on, tell them what you're trying to achieve, and let them help you move forward."

Their advice for fellow business owners is refreshingly simple:

"Ask the question. It can't hurt, and you might learn something along the way."

Because for Julie and Andy, great finance isn't just about numbers — it's about helping people move forward with confidence.
