Get to Know the Founder: Tushar from AssessEasy

Cybersecurity isn't exactly the topic most small business owners jump out of bed excited to learn about. 

And that's precisely why Tushar built AssessEasy. 

"I wanted to make cybersecurity so easy that it's like ordering a coffee or grabbing a bottle of ketchup," he says with a smile. 

As the founder of AssessEasy, Tushar is on a mission to help small and medium-sized businesses protect themselves online without the overwhelm, jargon or enterprise-level price tag that often comes with cybersecurity solutions. 

His journey started back in 2010 while working on security systems supporting the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi. 

"That was the first time I fell in love with cybersecurity," he recalls. 

What began as curiosity quickly turned into a global career spanning more than a decade. Tushar worked with large organisations, ASX-listed companies and major incident response teams, helping businesses navigate cyber threats at the highest level. 

But after years of working with organisations that had deep pockets and dedicated security teams, he noticed a gap. 

Small businesses were often being overlooked. 

"People think they're too small to be targeted," he says. "But the bad guys aren't just targeting large corporations. They're looking for the easiest opportunity." 

That realisation led him to launch AssessEasy. 

Today, Tushar helps business owners understand their cybersecurity risks through simple assessments, practical recommendations and education-first solutions. No fear tactics. No technical overwhelm. 

Just actionable steps. 

Outside of cybersecurity, Tushar describes himself as endlessly curious. He's constantly researching emerging threats, exploring new technologies and keeping an eye on how developments in AI could impact Australian businesses. 

His advice for fellow business owners? 

Start with the basics.

"You don't have to spend a fortune. Awareness is the first step."

For Tushar, cybersecurity isn't about fear. It's about confidence.

Because when business owners understand the risks, they can spend less time worrying about what might go wrong and more time focusing on what they do best.
